Founded in Ireland in 1968, Concern began with a simple but powerful belief: that ordinary people could make an extraordinary difference. When famine struck Biafra— 3,300 miles from Dublin—a small group of Irish men and women, shaped by Ireland’s own history of famine, refused to look away. Through determination and community-led action, they mobilized support and delivered life-saving aid, layingthe foundation for who we are today. 

Nearly 60 years later, that same belief still drives us. Rooted in Irish values of humility, solidarity, and justice, Concern goes where the need is greatest — standing with children, families, and communities facing extreme poverty, hunger, and crisis.
